This morning we had a visit from a dietitian. She talked to us about healthy eating and what good food options for our lunch boxes are. We learnt that there are 16 teaspoons of sugar in a 500ml bottle of coke. That measured out to half a cup! We were amazed at how much sugar is in fizzy and energy drinks. We also learnt that there are 5 teaspoons of sugar in a small carton of flavoured milk. The best drinks are water and green or yellow topped milk. Please support our Healthy Eating topic by providing sandwiches and fruit or raw vegetables in your child's lunch box.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week:
Tuesday: Run, Jump, Throw - please bring sports/running shoes and (for girls) shorts
Wednesday: Stations of the Cross in the Prayer Garden
Thursday: Holy Thursday
Friday: Good Friday - no school

Please return all Easter raffle books and money to the office - Room 13 still has a number outstanding.

Our Stories

Check out our latest stories:

Today it is my birthday. For my birthday I got a tablet, some Smiggle and a racing track with racing cars. I woke up early to open the presents. It was fun.
By Daniel

In the weekend we went to Hanmer Springs. We went on the Super Bowl then we went to the hotel. I watched some TV then I went to sleep. The next day we went back home. It took ages.
By Jonathan

Yesterday it was my Mum's birthday. It was a very hard day for my Dad, my sister and me because Ella and I did the baking. I made white chocolate biscuits and Ella made cup cakes and the cake. Our Mum got a big surprise when she saw the presents. I gave Mum a pet rock called Goldie. Ella gave Mum a bird. I made a rainbow card. It was a great day.
By Amelia K

Yesterday I went swimming. It was fun because I went on my back. There were a lot of people. It was very noisy. At the end I went in the spa. It was warm. The other pool was very cold. I was shaking when I got in because it was so cold. But when I had been in there for about two minutes I got used to it. I was feeling very happy. My sister and brother were happy too. Mum took us there and we stayed for about two hours.
By Poppy

My cousin is going to have a baby. It is a boy. We have given him lots of clothes. He is going to look cute. My cousin is very excited.
By Thea

Yesterday I went to the airport to pick mum up. I saw some planes and some were taking off.
By Chris

Yesterday I went to Clip 'n' Climb. I got up every climbing wall and I got to touch the baton. It was really fun because when you get to the top you have to let go and you get a fast ride down to the bottom. I am going to go there for my birthday. When I was finished I got an ice-cream.
By Sienna

On Saturday I went to Clip 'n' Climb with Eve for a party for a girl in my old class. Her name is Alyssa. I felt really happy to see my old class mates. I had a great time. When I got home I felt so tired because I was climbing lots. It was hard to put on our harness. We needed to call out lots of things before we could go up and come down.
